Theory About V: Lady's son.

We don't know much.

The all black attire, the demon summoning, gives me an Arkham feel.

Plus, arm tattoos match Arkham's face tattoos (kinda)

His hair, gives me a Lady vibe.

Possibly he's summoned Vergil's soul and has willingly become a host to it, renaming himself V?

EDIT: In the music video for Devil Trigger, which Itsuno-san and team have stated contains easter eggs and hints for our third playable character, the following words, "I have no name." have been found.

To which I say,Dante: "So, what's your name?"

Lady: "I don't have a name!"

I'm seriously calling it.It's Lady's son.Arkham's Grandson.Summons demons like Arkham, has arm burns like Arkham's face burns, Has all black attire like Arkham, has Lady's hair.

EVEN LESS LIKELY, is that it's Lady's son.....with Dante.

So V carries Dante's blood, with Vergil's soul.

Nero carries Vergil's blood, with Dante's soul.....so to speak, since he acts a bit like Dante, took over the Devil May Cry shop and resonates with him.

It could go even deeper than that.

Remember in DMC 3, the entire story is told by Lady?
Perhaps she wasn't telling Us, the audience the story, but in fact, to her own child.

"You've heard of it, haven't you? The legend of Sparda?"

And for some odd reason, the child just found his Grandfather Arkham's side of things so much more compelling, or at the very least, wants to hunt down demons using demonic power.

I believe he's called V as he willingly hosts Vergil's soul into himself.

The body walking around stealing Nero's arm is just an animated corpse that's looking for it's own demonic strength back.

It's all a reach, yeah, but theories are fun. Ask Einstein.

If this is right, the future of the series is carried on the shoulders of Nero and V, which I honestly wouldn't mind.

Alright so it's common knowledge at this point that there are three playable characters in DMC5 and they are all pictured in the box art for the game:



The character in the center is Nero who was featured heavily in the DMC5 trailer, the character on the left is Dante and the character on the right is the brand new character that has not yet been revealed. One of the earlier leaks listed him as "V", many people thought that "V" would in fact be Vergil but on close inspection this new character doesn't really look anything like Vergil.



The 3rd character is supposed to be able to summon demon bodyguards as a core game play mechanic. He seems to be second character pictured in that image, the top one being Dante with the Sparda sword and the third picture being Nero with his new robotic arm.


Now this is where things get spicy. Earlier on, Hideaki Itsuno-san who is the director of DMC5 and Matt Walker the producer claimed in an interview that there are hints about this third mysterious character in the official DMC5 Nero battle theme "Devil Trigger". Here's the interview where he gives us the challenge:

We initially found some motifs of a woman and her baby in doll forms in the music video but couldn't really make much of it:







In terms of lyrics, the music is all about a demon trying to get out from a body. Some people have theorized that it could be Vergil trapped in the body of "V" and trying to get out of it while "V" is trying to contain him or something.

But today we had a MAJOR breakthrough courtesy of the guys at Reddit originating from this thread:

There are 4 image frames in the trailer that has parts of the sentence "I have no name" in there that you need to splice together to form that image there. "I have no name" refers to the 3rd character in that he is called "V" because he has no name, obviously.

But more importantly, "I have no name" is what Lady says to Dante after he asks for her name in Devil May Cry 3. This could mean that Lady is in come way connected to this third mysterious character.

Of course some fans had to come up with some crazy theories about this new character being Lady's son!
