Expansão de Binding Of Isaac: Rebirth confirmada

Binding of Isaac creator Edmund McMillen has announced a planned expansion for recently released remake Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. Which, if you've committed to collecting every item and secret in the game, is great albeit potentially ruinous news.

"Once the holidays end, the Nicalis gang will be jumping back into the abyss and digging into the very large design doc I have ready for 'em," writes McMillen. "I have big plans for this expansion, I hope to add a very huge chunk of gameplay in the form of a new game mode that will almost double the amount of things you can do, I'm very proud of this new design."

The expansion will feature more enemies, bosses, areas and endings, and will also add a new playable character to the roster. As for new items, McMillen is looking for community submissions. Item descriptions can be submitted and voted on through this Reddit thread. If you've played the game, you probably won't be surprised to find the comment "pls edmund, little poops" places pretty high up the current list.

Wow All! We're going so well. We're right up there, big and visible on Kickstarter. And what an amazing response we've been getting, but we don't want to stop now!
There's still one big goal we haven't achieved yet and that's to get featured on the big games sites! We're talking about the Kotakus, IGNs, Destructoids etc.

If we can achieve even a little exposure on there, we'll be able to spread word of Hollow Knight to so many more potential fans! We'll be focusing all our efforts this whole week tweeting, emailing and sending press releases to let all of the sites know about the game.

And you guys can help as well! If you're on twitter, tweet at them, or email! Or send a letter!.. Okay, maybe don't send a letter, but the point is: They're easily contactable. Let them know why you think Hollow Knight is cool and that they should be covering it!

And one last thing before we go: Our first character reveal!

Times are hard for Dirtmouth, the small town built above the ruined underground kingdom of Hallownest. The townsfolk are slowly disappearing; savage creatures prowl beneath the surface and a strange poison in the earth refuses to let any vegetation grow. But lo! From the mists a proud figure emerges, ready to defeat the formless evil that plagues the populace. With his sword held aloft and a fiery determination to protect the helpless, this giant of bugkind strides confidently into the light and...

Oh, it's Zote. False alarm everybody.



Zote, self-proclaimed "Knight of the People", recently turned up in Dirtmouth and started demanding free lodgings, food and attention from the townsfolk. Claiming to be a rival of the Hollow Knight and his superior in every way, Zote has supposedly come to Dirtmouth to defeat the evil creatures lurking in the depths and find the source of the poison.

When he isn't having one of his frequent rest stops in town, Zote will be exploring the depths of Hallownest with his unique, home-made nail in hand. He favours caution and patience above all else, so he doesn't always make the same kind of progress as the Hollow Knight. Nor does he have the same successes due to what he calls his "atrocious, appallingly unfair bad luck".

If you see him during your travels, Zote will be more than happy to stop and chat, pointing out everything you've been doing wrong during your adventure so you can learn from his example.

I don't think I've ever rewritten an update or blog post as much as I have this one. I am at a loss for words. The support has been overwhelming and it's making us giddy. Before launching this Kickstarter, Gary and I debated endlessly if people would want a game that felt like it was made in 1987. A game made at the beginning of the golden era of point & click adventures. I think we have our answer. All 10,000+ of them.

It's now on the stretch goals and some translations, mobile ports, full voice and maybe more.

In the meantime, please enjoy Gary and I doing a happy dance.
