Last month, Disney Interactive Media Group cut as many as 100 staffers from Brighton, UK-based Black Rock Studios, the team that developed the well-received racing game Split/Second. Now, some of those staffers have formed a new shop in the same city.

GamesIndustry.biz is reporting today that a number of ex-Black Rock employees have formed a "micro" studio called ShortRound Games.

Based in Brighton, the team is composed of game director Andrew Hubbard, technical director Kim Burrows, technical art director Stuart Pharoah, and creative and art director Steve Uphill.

As for what the studio is working on or on which platforms its first project will release, few firm details were offered. However, the report states that ShortRound has two game demos underway and that it is "keen" on developing titles for the popular iPad and the PlayStation Vita.
