South Park: The Fractured But Whole will now launch in Q1 of 2017 instead of its originally scheduled December 6, 2016 release, Ubisoft announced today.
A post on the official Ubisoft blog explains that the delay is being done because "the development team wants to make sure the game experience meets the high expectations of fans and the additional time will help them achieve this goal."
No exact new release date has been given for the game's launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
IGN had a chance to go nose-on with The Fractured But Whole at Gamescom 2016 via the Nosulus Rift, while a special edition for the game was revealed earlier this year.
The Fractured But Whole's original December 6 date was revealed at E3 2016, where IGN also got an extended chance to try out the game.
South Park the TV series, meanwhile, had its 20th season premiere last night. For more on the show's return, check out IGN's review of the newest episode.
A sequel to 2014's South Park: The Stick of Truth — which is also free on PS4, Xbox One, and Steam for those pre-ordering the game — The Fractured But Whole features the kids of South Park taking on super hero personas while introducing some changes to the game's core combat.
